Koh Samui

05

Our journey to Koh Samui was simple; 1hr 30min speedboat to Pak Nam, 4hrs 40min drive to Don Sak and finally an 1hr 30min Ferry to Koh Samui Island. So we set off at 9:30am from the Koh Lipe “Pier” on Christmas Eve. In our taxi to our hotel from the Ferry port Harry started to get a headache but we put it down to the long travel day and lack of food and water we had had all day. By 10pm I had called an on-call doctor as Harry couldn’t keep down a sip of water, let alone paracetamol or the Taco Bell I had ordered. After a scary few hours Harry had received the fluids and medication he needed to stop the sickness. With a huge amount of tablets and orders to stay in for the next 5 days the doctor left at 2am Christmas morning. So Christmas Day was spent in a beach club with Harry only drinking beer, his words “I’m only going to be in Thailand for Christmas once”. Although we were not totally irresponsible, we were tucked up in bed for 8:30 that evening. The next few days in Kh Samui were spent infront of the TV watching Stranger Things whilst Harry recovered, following doctors orders this time. It was the perfect holiday for me too, we’d done so much moving the past few weeks, it was nice to be still (it also rained everyday we were inside which made things a lot easier). Our last evening in Koh Samui was spent at a look out restaurant called the Jungle Club which was beautiful despite the scary cab journey up 60 degree hills to get to it.
